Unique Antique .9 Carat Old Mine Cut Diamond Nine Stone Band Mini Cluster Ring 18k Gold Victorian
I am back from my inventory trips to Europe and listing an assortment of hand picked antique jewelry which I have selected one at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
Another one of my favorite stackable bands in recent memory due to its unique form. Usually we see these old mine cut diamond bands in straight lines or rows. This one holds nine chunky little rose cuts, but has them stacked two deep in two places to give really encrust the ring face and give it a sort of skinny mini cluster band vibe.
This of course makes it so fun to layer because of the added sparkle and form to the diamonds.
Victorian period piece crafted in and hallmarked for 18k gold. The shank is nice and sturdy as are the bead prongs making it ready for regular stacking!
Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
A snug size 5 1/4.
It weighs 3.4 grams.
Ring face 6.2mm north south.
The largest center diamond is 3.4mm. The others are 2.5 to 3mm each. Loose estimate as I would not remove them from the antique setting is a little over .9 carat.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with faint natural inclusions, a frosty spot here or there. One of the end stones is an old single cut whereas the rest are old mine cuts with larger open culets, all somewhat free form in shape which gives it a great antique look. No damage. Some slightly warm hues that vary and in sunlight have a lovely warm to palest yellow color from the reflecting of the gold pronged setting. Nothing glaring as far as difference between stones as the stones aren't that huge. They have that great hand chiseled chunky look to them. The prongs look great so it's ready for regular wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
