Antique Natural Sapphire Velvety Blue Three Stone Ring with Old Mine Cut Diamond Spacers Green Peacock Victorian Stacker Band

Another fave from our recent inventory trip. My mom and I loved the striking color of these three elongated natural sapphires in silky true blue to peacock greenish hues. Unique setting as well with a pair of old mine cut diamonds in between the stones to serve as sparkly spacers.
Did you know that in natural sapphires, inclusions are often sought after to help scatter light and thereby enhance the stone's color? That would be the case with this one, the rutile silk inclusions giving the stones a velvety glow from within, similar to the effect of a star sapphire but without the star shape. : ). So beautiful! And in such excellent condition with a glossy sheen overall and no major abrasions to give the stones any dull finish at all. The center stone is especially interesting under magnification as it has a color blocking of green on one side. Just a fun one to see in varying lighting conditions.
I loved wearing this one around the UK, just a clever design and mix of color and sparkle. Has an antique 18CT hallmark for 18k gold. It layers well with other pieces too with the flat north and south edges.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 5 1/2. It weighs 3.4 grams.
The ring face is 7.3mm north south.
The stones are 6.2 to 6.4mm north south by 4.6 to 5.1mm wide. The diamonds are about 2.5mm each.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A few nicks and nibbles to the sapphires but nothing major. The diamonds are frosty and have inclusions and varying degrees of warmth. Two appear quite frosty and included throughout but they are small and just meant to add sparkle, the sapphires are the star of this show. The velvety silk inclusions are sometimes eye visible, one has a hairline inclusion right at the surface but it is only seen under magnification and the stone is stable. Wonderful to find three sapphires on one piece with such beautiful coloring.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
