Antique 6.2mm Eye Clean Rose Cut DIAMOND Solitaire 18k White Gold Ring Disco Ball Stacker Open Back Engagement 1 Carat Face Up
Selling an assortment of mostly antique, and a few vintage fine jewelry pieces. More new listings each week from my last inventory trip to Europe so please feel free to follow here or on Insta!
ABOUT:
A classic antique Art Deco period solitaire, this one with a rose cut diamond that faces up at almost 1 carat (actual carat weight is less). Timeless solitaire setting with open back! (Which we love to find on rose cut diamonds as they are often closed back and a bit harder to wear.) This one is in an illusion setting with a sort of sloping base below the prongs to make the diamond look bigger by surrounding it with white metal.
The prongs are in excellent shape so this one is ready for regular wear, although the diamond is a bit thinly sliced as rose cuts often are. The piece has some nice height and a sturdy setting.
Found in France but I don't recognize the hallmarks. Sold to me as 18k and tested to confirm.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/2
Weight 2.4g
The ring face is 9.5mm north south and stands about 7.7mm tall off the finger.
The diamond is about 6.2mm in diameter, so it faces up at about .95 carat. (Note - Rose cuts are always difficult to estimate because there aren't any great formulas out there for calculating carat weight without removing them and putting them on a scale which I would not do for fear of ruining the antique setting. With the flat backs, rose cuts are spreader with a lower carat weight typically than modern diamonds with pavilions. If you were to estimate how it "faces up" by millimeter this stone wears like a .95 carat solitaire.)
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
No damage, chips or cracks. The diamond is eye clean with some very small speck inclusions, only seen under magnification. For an antique rose cut it has a very nice clarity. With their less "busy" faceting we are able to see through rose cuts so it's wonderful to find such a clean one on this antique ring.
Please also note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
